Michael Bayle has spent over two decades in helping digital organisations launch and scale new ventures. Michael is currently the Vice-President of Retail Customer & Traveler Solutions at the Amadeus IT Group. In this role, Michael oversees the product portfolio, investment and go-to-market strategy, solution expertise, and marketing globally for small & medium sized agencies, tour operators, networks, and consolidators. Michael also is spearheading Amadeus’ digital transformation with these agencies, looking to improve efficiencies in how Amadeus disseminates information and opportunities with its agencies embracing newer technologies, especially in light of the operating realities COVID-19 has forced upon the world. Previously, Michael was the Global Head of Mobile for Amadeus Travel Channels responsible for commercialisation and innovation strategies for an extensive portfolio of mobile capabilities on behalf of Amadeus customers including airlines, travel agencies, airports and hotels. Since joining Amadeus in late 2014, Michael transformed the development of Amadeus’ earliest mobile product, into a world-class marketing and monetisation platform called Amadeus Mobile which now services millions of travellers annually. He also solidified new global partnerships with some of the mobile industry’s top advertising, analytic and marketing players. Michael is also responsible for guiding Amadeus’ investment within artificial intelligence and messaging platforms, including the development of Facebook Messenger and WeChat as well as Amazon Echo Alexa voice-activated search & book services.

Prior to joining Amadeus, Michael held senior executive positions with several leading media companies and start-ups. He was Senior Vice President, Programmatic at Xad, a global location marketplace that brought attribution to media buyers looking to drive in-store foot traffic and sales. At ESPN, Michael served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile where he managed all aspects of advertising, content and development for an audience base of over 50 million users, where time spent consuming media via mobile began overtaking desktop and even television audiences.

Michael’s previous mobile industry experience includes stints with Amobee and Yahoo! At Yahoo, Michael launched its global display advertising business into mobile after driving the debut of the world’s first mobile sponsored search ads in Japan and the U.S.

Michael is also an Advisor to the Mobile World Capital Foundation, based in Barcelona. Michael has authored articles on various mobile topics including advertising, artificial intelligence, chatbots, messaging, merchandising and servicing and is a frequent speaker on these and other trends.
